Case Description: Gold mineral processing refers to the crushing and grinding of ore, and the separation of gold from the ore by physical or chemical methods.
Gold plays important role in human’s life. Native gold can occur as sizeable nuggets, as fine grains or flakes in alluvial deposits, or as grains or microscopic particles embedded in other rocks. Gold ore beneficiation is a processing to get gold out of ores.
The particularity of gold ore beneficiation is that the grade of gold ore is low, usually below 0.5 g/ton, so it requires particularly delicate processing. Compared with traditional gold ore beneficiation processes, modern gold ore beneficiation production lines use advanced beneficiation processes and equipment to achieve high extraction rates, low energy consumption, environmental protection and other goals, thereby increasing the output value of gold.
Gold ore is mainly divided into rock gold ore and alluvial gold ore, their physical and chemical properties are different, so the beneficiation methods are also different.
Beneficiation of gold ore is mainly divided into two methods: gravity separation and flotation.
Gravity separation is the use of the high density of gold physical property to separate gold in gold ore.
The ore is first crushed and ground to bring the gold ore particles to a certain size. The gold ore particles are then separated from other minerals through gravity beneficiation equipment, such as spiral chute , shaking table , jig , etc.
The gravity separation method plays an important role in placer gold production and is also used to recover coarse-grained gold from rock gold mines , creating favorable conditions for flotation and cyanidation processes and increasing the overall gold recovery rate.
Flotation is a method that uses chemicals to separate gold minerals from other minerals in gold ores.
During the flotation process, the ore is crushed and ground to make the gold ore particles reach a certain particle size. Then, appropriate flotation reagents are added to the slurry, and gold minerals are separated from other minerals through flotation equipment, such as flotation machines , and gold mineral foam is formed.
Flotation is a widely used mineral processing method in rock gold mines, accounting for about 80% of the gold separation methods in rock gold mines.
